Knight’s songs reflect a city dreamer creating a new world to sink into: across Iron Mountain, she conjures imagery of barren Southwest American landscapes as she recounts memories that feel beamed from generations past. The record was created in the Hudson Valley with Knight’s frequent writing partner Deer park (fakemink, Ecco2k, Jawnino) who produced and engineered Iron Mountain.

Album highlight ‘Canyon’ is perhaps the most evocative example of this, a sepia-tinged fable set during hurricane season. Speaking on the track, Knight shares: “I’d always wanted to write something that felt like the tornado sequence in The Wizard of Oz, and for me, ‘Canyon’ scratched that itch.”
